NEIGHBORHOOD
The Village of Millbrook lies adjacent to the Fox River and is about 60 miles southwest of Chicago in Fox Township, Kendall County, Illinois.

The first Village President, Pete Peterson, had a dream of incorporating the Village where he lived and he accomplished his goal when on November 5, 2002 the Village of Millbrook was incorporated. The village's second President, Judy Heim, continued in Pete’s quest to preserve Millbrook’s unique character. Since its incorporation, the Village has grown in both agricultural and residential acreage and boasted a population of 335 as of the 2010 census.

In August of 2009, with the assistance of many residents and the Planning Committee, the Village of Millbrook adopted its Comprehensive Plan. It was a huge step for the Village in planning for its future: “The Village desires to preserve and enhance its tremendous natural resources, character, and environment while permitting sound residential and non-residential development in appropriate areas of the Village. Furthermore, the Village of Millbrook wishes to preserve and protect the excellent quality of life that initially attracted current residents.” That is the shared belief and the mission statement of the Village leaders and its residents.

So come and enjoy a day in the country. A must is a visit to Winding Creek Nursery. Since 1957 it has been the place to stop for all your planting needs. Like camping? The Yogi Bear Campground offers RV or tent campsites. Fishing can be done from the historic Millbrook bridge which was built in 1897 and still stands near the original river crossing. The scenic corridors surrounding Millbrook are absolutely beautiful. Canoeing down the Fox River is a great way to see the beautiful scenery and to see the area from an interesting perspective. The Village of Millbrook joins in hosting the Millbrook Spring Fling which takes place on the first Saturday following Memorial Day. It is growing and offers musical entertainment, a car show, many local vendors and food and fun all day.
