NEIGHBORHOOD Glenwood is a small village located in Cook County, 23 miles south of the Loop. Residents catch the Metra at the nearby Homewood Station to commute to downtown Chicago. Glenwood is surrounded by the Cook County Forest Preserves, removing the village from the surrounding suburban sprawl. Glenwood has modest homes on a traditional grid of streets. The village also has a recently constructed downtown area.
